Celebration Charter Review Task Force Is Established

May 10, 2019

The Celebration Residential Owners Association (CROA) Board of Directors established the Charter Review Task Force in late April 2019.  The Task Force will review Celebration’s governing documents to include the Charter, By-Laws, and Supplements.  These documents are reviewed approximately every 10 years for compliance with Florida Statutes, incorporation of CROA Board policies since the last Charter revision, and inputs from the community to reflect how the community wants to be governed and administered.

Celebration Homeowner Input Is Welcome

The Task Force meetings are open to the public and will be held in Building 851 periodically throughout this year.  Meetings will be posted in the Celebration News calendar, online at Celebration Front Porch, and in the Friday Flash emails.  Public comments are welcomed in a format similar to the CROA Board meetings.  Additionally, there will be smaller “working groups” consisting of Task Force members and Celebration homeowners who will conduct research and discuss document updates in the best interest of the community.

Timeline and Celebration Homeowners’ Vote

The Task Force has a robust schedule in order to provide a final version of the governing documents to the CROA Board, permit a legal review, and submit the changes in time for CROA membership to vote on the changes during the next CROA Board election period in late January through February 2020.  The results will be announced with the CROA Board election results on March 4, 2020.  More about the voting process will be published later this year.

The Future of Celebration

This project is one of the largest efforts by the membership of the Association.  The results will impact all present and future homeowners of Celebration.
