Celebration Residential Owners Association (CROA) COVID-19 Reopening Plan – Updated

May 4, 2020

Based on recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, National Recreation and Parks Association, the White House Opening Up America Again phase plan and the Florida Governor,s state reopening plan, CROA will begin its Phase I reopening on Monday, May 4 as outlined in the Governor’s plan.

Effective Monday, May 4, CROA will be reopening the following facilities:

  • Town Hall (851 Celebration Avenue) for Association business only. No meetings, programing, classes or social gatherings will be permitted. Town Hall will be open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The building will remain closed on the weekends. When visiting Town Hall for Association business, residents are asked to adhere to the protocols put in place, which include:
    • Not visiting the facility, or any facility, if you or an immediate family member, with whom you reside, is exhibiting symptoms of an illness.
    • Residents are asked to enter the building through the side door (handicap entrance).
    • Tape will be placed on the flooring at Town Hall near the reception desk to maintain required distancing of six feet. Residents may be asked to wait outside if the number in the indoor queue cannot safely accommodate social distancing guidelines. For residents waiting outside, the receptionist at the door will take cell phone numbers for residents and call or text them when it is their turn at the front desk. Congregating in the Town Hall lobby will not be permitted

  • Celebration Unleashed Dog Park. Management staff will be on hand to assist with social distancing guidelines. While keeping canines six feet apart is next to impossible, we ask that their human companions please abide by the six-foot social distancing guidelines.

  • Tennis Courts. Players are asked to abide to the six-foot social distancing guidelines. Tennis court usage will abide by the USTA guidelines set forth and can be found below in this announcement.

  • Basketball Court will remain closed at this time. The status of reopening the court will be discussed by the CROA Board on Friday May 8 on their weekly teleconference.

  • Open Parks. Parks that are not gated, fenced or have other physical boundaries will be open for access. Residents visiting the parks are asked to please abide by the six-foot social distancing guidelines. Please note – playgrounds and the Celebration Community Field Complex will remain closed at this time.

All other facilities and amenities not identified above will remain closed at this time. The CROA Board will discuss the reopening of the community pools on Friday, May 8.

Physical Distancing

Community members are advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups of people not traveling with them while standing in lines and moving around the property and avoid gatherings of 10 or more people. Community members are also encouraged to wear masks when interacting with other people Spotify promotion. Park monitors will continue to service the community and will encourage residents utilizing CROA amenities to practice social distancing protocols.

Hand Washing and Sanitizing

Hand sanitizer dispensers will be placed at key entrances and contact areas such as Town Hall, the entrance to the Celebration Unleashed Dog Park and the tennis courts.

Signage

There will be health and hygiene reminders throughout the community, reminding and encouraging everyone to continue practicing proper hygiene.

USTA Tennis Guidelines:

Protect against infections:

    • Wash your hands with a disinfectant soap and water (for 20 seconds or longer), or use a hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available, before going to the court.
    • Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles. Do not share racquets or any other equipment such as wristbands, grips, hats and towels.
    • Bring a full water bottle to avoid touching a tap or water fountain handle.
    • Use new balls and a new grip, if possible.
    • Consider taking extra precautions such as wearing gloves.
    • If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve.
    • Arrive as close as possible to when you need to be there.
    • Avoid touching court gates, fences, benches, etc. if you can.

When Playing
Try to stay at least six feet apart from other players. Do not make physical contact with them (such as shaking hands or a high five).

    • You should consider not playing doubles, which could lead to incidental contact and unwanted proximity. If you do play doubles, avoid all incidental contact, NO Bryan Brothers Chest Bumps and NO whispering to each other from a close distance to strategize.
    • Avoid touching your face after handling a ball, racquet or other equipment. Wash your hands promptly if you have touched your eyes, nose or mouth.
    • Avoid sharing food, drinks or towels.
    • Use your racquet/foot to pick up balls and hit them to your opponent. Avoid using your hands to pick up the balls.
    • Stay on your side of court. Avoid changing ends of the court.
    • Remain apart from other players when taking a break.
    • If a ball from another court comes to you, send it back with a kick or with your racquet

After Playing

  • Leave the court as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly or use a hand sanitizer after coming off the court.
  • Do not use the locker room or changing area. Shower at home.
  • No extra-curricular or social activity should take place. No congregation after playing.
  • All players should leave the facility immediately after play.

Use four or six balls

Although unlikely, it’s possible that a tennis ball can transmit the COVID-19 virus, as virtually any hard surface can transmit the disease. So here is an extra precaution you can take to keep safe when playing tennis:

  • Open two cans of tennis balls that do not share the same number on the ball.
    • Take one set of numbered balls, and have your playing partner take a set of balls from the other can.
    • Proceed with play, making sure to pick up your set of numbered balls only. Should a ball with the other number wind up on your side of the court, do not touch the ball with your hands. Use your racquet head or feet to advance the ball to the other side of the court.
