A sneak peek at the 2019 holiday season

Rock in the holidays

There is something special about the holidays in this community, the lights appear a bit brighter, people’s smiles seem wider and Celebration takes on a Rockwellesque quality. This year will be no exception.

The Celebration Residential Owners Association (CROA) is all set to get in on the holiday and ‘winter’ fun with a pair of events exclusively for Celebration residents. Let’s take a brief stroll to see what’s on tap, don’t forget your scarf and mittens.

Lights, sounds, music, vibrant colors and holiday favorites, put these all together and you have the makings for one incredible evening.

And you don’t have to venture to Siberia to experience it.

If there is one musical event that is the must see this holiday season…this is it! Circle the date on the calendar and begin making your plans NOW, as we welcome “The Holiday Rock Orchestra” to the stage at the Great Lawn on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m.

“The Holiday Rock Orchestra” is a collection of today’s best rock musicians and singers celebrating musical memories of the holidays. These musical performers present timeless classics with a twist of excitement and a humble respect to the greatest artists that have come before them.

The Holiday Rock Orchestra will take you on a journey to stir up memories of past holidays. They will re-create the soundtrack of your memories with selections from Transiberian Orchestra, Paul McCartney, Mannheim Steamroller, to the beautiful storytelling of the Polar Express. Best of all… you’ll experience original compositions from The Holiday Rock Orchestra that have been featured in productions by Disney & Dreamworks.

The production includes a seven-piece band, lights, special effects, a LED Wall and 16-member choir.

While the concert is free of charge to all Celebration residents with a CROA ID, residents will have the opportunity to enjoy the evening from their very own VIP table with reserved seating. A table of eight will be available for $200, while a table of four will be available for $100. The VIP tables will go on sale on Thursday, August 1 and can be purchased at www.celebration.fl.us or in person at Town Hall.

If last year’s holiday performance is any indication, these tables will go quickly.

Kick off the holiday season and be the first to preview this year’s Winter Wonderland Trees and Tablescapes, all while enjoying holiday cocktails and appetizers!

Slide, glide and bounce into the season

If the Thursday evening concert doesn’t get your blood flowing and the holiday spirit resonating, our elves will be jumping right back into it with the CROA Holiday Fest.

This year’s event will see a new locale and will be under the lights.

Join us for some wintertime fun on Friday, December 6 from 5-9 p.m., as we transform Lakeside Park into a ‘snowy’ and ‘icy’ treat for both young and old.

Get ready for the sensation of sliding down a mountain of snow, thanks to a portable slide – complete with snow! Grab an inner tube and prepare for the ‘coolest’ ride around.

Perhaps skating is your thing. We’ve got you covered!

Slip on the blades and glide across our very own ‘ice’ rink in the heart of the park. Whether you’re an expert, a novice or somewhere in between, this is your chance to show your stuff….and best of all, no freezing temperatures.

This is the closest we will get to a frozen pond in Celebration (residents from New England and the upper Midwest know what we mean).

Maybe the holidays has you bouncing with excitement? How about expending some of that energy in a 30-foot tall snowman bounce house.

The big man himself will also be stopping by to meet all the boys and girls in attendance. Santa Claus has informed us he is excited to be coming to CROA’S Holiday Fest again this year and might even try a turn on the snow slide. Now that would make for a holly jolly good time.

Of course, no holiday would be complete without a movie. So be sure to stop by the Great Lawn during the event for a seasonal favorite. For more information on Holiday Fest visit www.celebration.fl.us or email lifestyle@celebrationtownhall.com.

(The above events are resident exclusive events and a valid CROA ID is required to attend)

Community Chorus to kick off the sounds of the season

If holiday music is what you need to get into the holiday spirit, then Celebration is definitely the place to be this December.

In addition to “The Holiday Rock Orchestra,” CROA will also be sponsoring the Celebration Community Chorus’ annual and much anticipated holiday performance.

Under the direction of Kristopher Schave, the chorus takes a holiday stroll through timeless classics, contemporary favorites and of course, no performance would be complete without a sing-a-long.

Join in the fun and unwrap the bow of the holiday season with the group’s performance on Sunday, December 1, 7 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church. Admission is free.

Talented students from Celebration High School will be singing your favorite holiday songs as you settle in for the evening.

The twist is we moved the Concert to a different day and time. The Holiday Concert will be Saturday, December 14 at 3 p.m. Yes, you heard right…3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
