Special Olympics Torch Run

The 2022 Final Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run will again take place on May 20 in Celebration.

After taking a few years off due to COVID, the 2022 Final Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run will again be held in Celebration on Market Street on May 20.  Police vehicles from around the state will begin to arrive around 4:30 p.m., with dinner for the participants at 5 p.m. Around 7 p.m., please come out along the route from the post office down Celebration Avenue towards U.S. 192 to cheer on and support the law officers make their way running from Celebration to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the lighting of the flame at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies. This police-escorted torch run is truly a sight to see and hear.  Hope to see you there.

Residents may encounter some traffic delays or temporary road closures during the event. Market and Front streets will close at 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 and will reopen after 9 p.m. on May 20 after the event.
