Founders Day Events

Sep 22, 2022

Founders Day in Celebration is usually a cornucopia of community and togetherness. From concerts and family fun to parades and ceremonies.

The 2020 edition will look a bit different, as has most things since mid-March.

Our Founders concert, sponsored by Island Village at Celebration, will take place on Friday, November 13 at the Celebration Community Field Complex (CCFC), complete with enhanced safety measures, which include advanced reservations in an effort to assist with monitoring attendance. We all need a little music in our lives, especially now, so we will be counting on O-Town Motown to get us in the groove.

From the musical stylings of The Supremes and The Temptations to The Four Tops and Aretha Franklin, you have a front row seat for the sounds that shaped music forever.  Talented vocalists, backed by an energetic live band, will move you both physically and emotionally, bringing to life the many great artists, unforgettable songs and memories of the golden era of Motown music. For those attending, show time is 7:30 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. The concert will also be streamed live on the Town Hall Facebook page (facebook.com/celebrationtownhall).

On Saturday, November 14, we will honor our nation’s military members, including our own Celebration Veterans, with our Veterans Ceremony and Flag Ceremony.

The community is invited to join in and offer their thanks at the 11 a.m. ceremony in Founders Park. The event will also mark the changing of the flag.

Immediately following the ceremony we will take the annual community photo, albeit a bit different this year. We will have a drone on hand to capture the moment, in addition to our traditional photographer.

For those unable to or for those not comfortable participating in the photo in person, be sure to check out the Friday Flash for information on how you can upload a photo to mark the occasion.
