Gliding, sliding and rocking into the holiday season

As you flip to that last page of the calendar, you may have come to the realization, its’ December…the final month of the decade…and time for the most magical time of the year.

Celebration truly embraces the holiday spirit, as residents go all out to show their love of the season with many incredible decorations and displays. The community boast home tours that show off the elegant and occasionally the whimsical side of homes and condominiums. An entire neighborhood takes holiday light displays to a new level (think the Griswald’s, but better)! It even ‘snows’ nightly in the heart of Town Center. Yes, Celebration definitely is the place to be during the holiday season and best of all, no biting wind chills.

The Celebration Residential Owners Association (CROA) is no exception to getting into the spirit of the season. The operations team has Town Hall and many of the amenities looking merry and bright with festive decorations.

If it’s fun, music or both, CROA has you covered.

To make the most of the season, you have to start on the first day! On December 1, everyone is welcome to join the Celebration Community Chorus for their yearly holiday show, ‘Home for the Holidays.’ Under the direction of Kristopher Schave, the chorus takes attendees on a musical journey of classic carols, modern standards and of course, a holiday sing-a-long. The 7 p.m. performance is free of charge and is held at the Community Presbyterian Church.

If a rockin’ holiday is more your style, buckle up, as we have something for both sight and sound. This year’s CROA holiday concert will have everyone talking as we welcome “The Holiday Rock Orchestra” to the stage at the Great Lawn on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m.

“The Holiday Rock Orchestra” is a collection of today’s best rock musicians and singers celebrating musical memories of the holidays. These musical performers present timeless classics with a twist of excitement and a humble respect to the greatest artists that have come before them. The production includes a seven-piece band, lights, special effects, a LED Wall and 16-member choir. Residents will have the opportunity to enjoy the evening from their very own VIP table with reserved seating. A table of eight will be available for $200, while a table of four will be available for $100 and can be reserved by contacting lifestyle@celebrationtownhall.com or 407-566-1200.

The following evening we go under the lights for some ‘wintertime’ fun at CROA’S annual holiday fest. There will be an incredible lineup of ‘winter’ fun for all ages, including a holiday movie and a visit from the North Pole’s number one resident.

Join us for some wintertime fun on Friday, December 6 from 5-9 p.m., as we transform Lakeside Park into a ‘snowy’ and ‘icy’ treat for both young and old. Get ready for the sensation of sliding down a mountain of snow, thanks to a portable slide – complete with snow! Grab an inner tube and prepare for the ‘coolest’ ride around.

Perhaps skating is your thing. We’ve got you covered!

Slip on the blades and glide across our very own ‘ice’ rink in the heart of the park. Whether you’re an expert, a novice or somewhere in between, this is your chance to show your stuff….and best of all, no freezing temperatures. This is the closest we will get to a frozen pond in Celebration (residents from New England and the upper Midwest know what we mean).

Maybe the holidays has you bouncing with excitement? How about expending some of that energy in a 30-foot tall snowman bounce house. For those who have been really good this past year and even for those who have not, don’t forget, Santa will be on hand as well to hear your Christmas wish list. Of course, no holiday season is complete without a classic movie. Beginning at 7:15 p.m. on the Great Lawn, take a break from sliding and gliding and enjoy A Christmas Story on the big screen.

Both the holiday concert and holiday fest are resident only events and a valid CROA ID is required to attend.

On December 13, take in the final Food Truck Friday of the year from 5-9 p.m. at Lakeside Park. We are also thrilled to welcome the Celebration High School Jazz Band for their annual holiday performance. Be sure to stop by and get into the spirit of the season with these talented performers.

From all of us…to all of you, Happy Holidays!
