Rotary FUNdraising – poker nights and pancake mornings

Sep 22, 2022

The Rotary Club of Celebration holds two major fundraisers each year to provide critical funds to deserving organizations and charities in and around our community. In the spring, we play poker and in the fall, we run for pancakes!

As for the pancakes, we just wrapped up our sponsorship appreciation ceremony thanking our 2019 sponsors and delivering checks to the major beneficiaries: The Community Hope Center, Samaritan Village Safe Home and Help Now of Osceola. Each recipient received a check for $5000 to support their goals for the upcoming year. Proceeds from the Pancake Run also provided grants to other deserving groups in Celebration and Osceola County, totaling over $14,000. The grant recipients included the Fisher House, AdventHealth’s Pink on Parade, The CHS High School Band, Boy Scout, Cub Scout and Venture Patrol Troop 125, The Salvation Army, The CHS ROTC program, AdventHealth’s Sharing Smiles program, The Celebration Foundation WINGS program, Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids Program, The Ricciani Foundation and the Celebration Foundation’s Concert Series.

As with any major event, the Rotary Club of Celebration could not have managed to raise the funds for deserving causes throughout our community without the support of sponsors. Our 2019 Pancake Run Sponsors included Title Sponsor: Advent Health; Platinum Sponsor: Carroll Bradford Roofing; Gold Sponsors: CROA, MD Cabinetry, Peak Chiropractic, ARETE Lifestyles by Demetri and the HILB Group. A complete list of our sponsors and photos of the event are available on our Facebook Page.

The Annual Pancake Run consists of a 5K, 10K, Kids Run and Pancake Breakfast. Runners from all around the world make their way to our run, including runners from the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and Norway, to name a few. All skill levels can participate, and the races are chipped and timed to help you qualify for larger runs. The finish line greets runners and non-runners alike to freshly made pancakes and beverages. There’s also a kids’ area with bounce houses, sponsor tents, a live DJ and raffle items. Overall, it’s a fun event for the community.
