The Celebration Scout Troop 125 cordially invites you to attend our annual American Flag Retirement Ceremony on Sunday, November 17, 6 p.m. at the Artisan Park Amphitheater.
The American flag has stood as a symbol of national pride for over 240 years. Referred to as Old Glory or The Stars and Stripes, the U.S. flag has flown in some form since 1777 and remains to this day as a living piece of American history.
Most of us have experienced the pageantry surrounding the raising of a new flag, but when “Old Glory” becomes worn, torn, or faded it needs to be retired with the dignity and respect befitting our national emblem.
If you have any unserviceable flags in need of retirement, you may bring them with you to be properly and respectfully destroyed.
We really hope you will join us for this special event and want to remind you to “Be Prepared” – bring a blanket or chair for seating and bug spray. Lastly, remember that Artisan Park does not have any restrooms.
Hope to see you there!
