‘Tis the Season

Sep 22, 2022

The holiday season in Celebration is upon us!

This is a special time of year as the community truly embraces the holiday spirit, as residents go all out to show their love of the season with many incredible decorations and displays. While things may be different in 2020, the lights will still shine bright, decorations will still provide a ‘wow’ factor and smiles will be a bit brighter as we close out the year.

And of course, CROA will be adding a little extra glitter to enhance that holiday sparkle.

Nothing sets the tone for the holidays more than music and on December 3, the CROA Holiday Concert will be providing the soundtrack of the season with Franco Corso and special guest Gary Lovini to get you in the holiday mood.

Slated for the Celebration Community Field Complex (CCFC), advance reservations are required for the 7 p.m. performance. If you are unable to attend, we’ve got you covered, visit the Town Hall Facebook page (facebook.com/celebrationtownhall) the day of the performance for the link to the live broadcast. You do not need a Facebook account to view the show.

The Holiday Light Parade & Teddy Bear Toss will traverse through the community on Thursday, December 10 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The parade, which will cover multiple areas of the community, will feature CROA vehicles in their holiday best, joined by members of the GEMS of Celebration Club in festive NEVS. In addition, the North Pole’s number one resident is also expected to take part.

As for the Teddy Bear Toss portion, residents are invited to come out as the parade passes in front of or near their homes and toss a plush into one of the CROA vehicles. If you don’t think you have the skill to hit a slow moving vehicle, don’t worry, staff on hand will be happy to assist. All the plush toys collected that evening will be donated to The Marine Toys for Tots Program. Full route is available in this edition and at celebration.fl.us.

It’s that simple. Boost your holiday mood with a spectacle of seasonal lights and sound and make the holidays a little brighter for a child by donating a new plush toy.

On Friday, December 11, it’s movie night featuring Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The presentation, which will make the spirit of the season shine through in even the biggest Scrooge, will be held under the stars at the CCFC beginning at 6:30 p.m. Advanced reservations are required.

Holiday exterior illumination will be on full display this season, with the CROA Holiday Lane.

This drive thru attraction will take place on Thursday, December 17 from 5:30 – 9 p.m. at the Celebration Community Field Complex (CCFC). This is a resident only event and a valid CROA ID must be presented to experience.

Residents are invited to dash along through the CCFC, enjoying the sights and sounds of the holiday season. A holiday treat will be distributed to good little boys and girls (while supplies last) and even Santa Claus himself will be on hand, as a reminder that Christmas Eve is only one week away at that point. While vehicles will not be able to stop and visit with Santa personally, be sure to have your cameras ready to capture that perfect holiday moment.

We encourage residents to get into the spirit of the season by decorating their vehicles or NEVS as they visit.

Happy Holidays!
