As you hit the stores for your annual back to school shopping excursions, we ask if you are able, to pick up some school supplies for those who may not be as fortunate. The annual ‘Stuff the Bus’ campaign, which is conducted by the Celebration Foundation and CROA, will take place from August 1-9, culminating at the community’s monthly Food Truck Friday on August 9 at Town Lakeside Park. As an added incentive, the 2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs from August 2-6.
Bring your school supplies; enjoy a great selection of food from over a dozen food trucks and plan to spend the evening with friends and family. The annual ‘Stuff the Bus’ program is a call to action for residents and the community to come together to meet a growing need in our community.
There are several ways you can help us fill the bus with school supplies.
- Encourage your office, co-workers, friends and neighbors to participate and collect supplies.
- Supplies can be dropped off at the Celebration Foundation’s offices (610 Sycamore St., # 110), Town Hall (851 Celebration Ave.) and Thriving In Place (690 Celebration Avenue), beginning Tuesday, August 1, or at the Stuff the Bus event on August 9.
- Donations of cash or checks will also be accepted to help offset the cost of supplies. If making a donation by check, please make the check payable to Celebration Foundation and indicate ‘Stuff the Bus’ in the memo line.
What supplies are needed? Choose an age you would like to purchase supplies for, use the lists below to guide you through your purchases. If you are out shopping for your own kids, just pick up a few more of whatever you are getting for them–every little bit helps!
