Veterans Club – End of Year Report

2019 will soon be in the rearview mirror and we will be facing the challenges of the New Year.

The past year has been a busy time for the Veterans Club of Celebration, Inc. The organization has supported several Veterans groups. The Snowball Express was the recipient of a cash donation to assist the program in bringing children of fallen military personnel to Disney for a couple of days of fun. Fisher House at the Lake Nona Veterans Hospital was also a beneficiary of a cash donation. We sent several members of the JRAFROTC cadets to a ROTC leadership camp. Other groups that benefited from the Veterans Club were, Pawsitive Action, the USO and the VA Community Living Center. Much of this was possible by raising funds through donations and a successful Porch and Yard Sale. We also had a lot of support from The Celebrators, as they were terrific in assisting with helping us collect items and working at the Porch and Yard Sales.

During the year the Veterans Club participated and sponsored three annual events. The first was an annual breakfast at Disney’s Shades of Green. The second was the annual Pig Roast at Heritage Hall, at this event the JRAFROTC were invited. The Vets truly enjoyed reminiscing with them and swapping stories. If this wasn’t enough to keep the Vets busy, we also had several monthly happy hour gatherings. All our events were very successful and enjoyed by all who attended.

The members were very busy during November celebrating Veterans Day, Founders Day, Thanksgiving and our holiday dinner.

The Veterans Club of Celebration, Inc welcomes new members to join our very active and friendly group. Meetings held on the second Thursday of each month at 1800 hrs. at Town Hall, 851 Celebration Ave.
