Celebration’s Independence Day Spectacular
It’s time to start thinking about Independence Day and all the ways you can enjoy America’s 247th birthday.
The perfect way to kick off your day is by attending Celebration’s Independence Day parade. The annual march sponsored by the Celebration Residential Owners Association (CROA), kicks off at 9 a.m. from 851 Celebration Avenue and traverses up Celebration Avenue to Market Street, before ending at Lakeside Park.
Following the morning festivities, residents are encouraged to enjoy the (hopefully) great weather and spend some time cooling off at one of the community pools, or perhaps gather with their neighbors in one of our many parks for a BBQ, picnic, or informal get-together. Then beginning at 4 p.m. the fun shifts to Town Center with the Star Spangled Spectacular. Enjoy live music, which includes performances by the DJ City Beat and Velvet Vanguard, and food and beverage options from many of your favorite Celebration locales. Then at approximately 9:20 p.m., we will paint the night sky with a breathtaking fireworks display.
The event in Town Center, including the fireworks spectacular, is presented by Celebration Residential Owners Association (CROA), Celebration Community Services (CCS), Celebration Town Center, and Everglades Equipment Group and Milo’s Tea. AdventHealth is the Presenting Sponsor for the standby EMS and First Aid Station. Hometown sponsors for this event include Larsen Slated PLLC and Island Village at Celebration by Mattamy Homes; Contributing sponsors are Apex Security, Campus Customs, Celebration Town Tavern, and Tap Truck Orlando, and Celebration Sanitation.
Celebration residents will have a front row seat to enjoy the fireworks from the closest vantage point in town. The Lakeside Park VIP viewing area is accessible only to Celebration residents and their guests. You must have a CROA ID to enter this area. Feel free to pack your own food and beverages. The Tap Truck Orlando will be serving up ice cold alcoholic beverages for purchase. CROA will have concessions for sale including Dole Whip and more. Be sure to stop by and say hello to DJ Renee Adams who is bringing exclusive entertainment to the residents on the Great Lawn beginning at 5 p.m. If residents have guests joining them for the evening fun, encourage them to utilize the free park and ride service. Guests can park at 215 Celebration Place and take a bus to the K-8 school and back following the event. This will help alleviate traffic in the community. The service runs from 4 – 11 p.m.
No matter how you choose to enjoy your day, safety should be at the top of your list. Please remember to celebrate responsibly! For more information about the Star Spangled Fourth in America’s Hometown, please contact Town Hall at 407-566-1200 or townhall@ciramail.com.
