Osceola County Students Demonstrate Strong Academic Growth Across All Subjects in 2025 State Assessments

The School District of Osceola County (SDOC) proudly announces significant academic gains in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, as reflected in the 2025 Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) and B.E.S.T. End-of-Course (EOC) results released by the Florida Department of Education.

Students across all subject areas showed measurable improvement from 2024 to 2025, highlighting the district’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.

Key Highlights from the 2025 Assessment Results in Comparison to the 2024 Assessment:
71% of students scored Level 3 or above on the NGSSS Biology 1 EOC, matching the state average and reflecting strong performance in science education.

📘 English Language Arts (ELA) Highlights
Year-over-Year Growth (2024 to 2025):
  • Grades 3–5: +2 percentage points
  • Grades 6–8: +5 percentage points
  • Grades 9–10: +6 percentage points
Progress Monitoring Gains (PM1 to PM3):
  • Grade 3: +30 percentage points
  • Grade 4: +22 percentage points
  • Grade 5: +22 percentage points
  • Grade 6: +16 percentage points
  • Grade 7: +17 percentage points
  • Grade 8: +19 percentage points
  • Grade 9: +19 percentage points
  • Grade 10: +26 percentage points

  • Overall (Grades 3–8 and High School EOC): +5 percentage points

  • Grade 3: +49 percentage points
  • Grade 4: +41 percentage points

End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment Gains:
  • Algebra 1 EOC: +6 percentage points
  • Geometry EOC: +5 percentage points

  • Civics EOC: +4 percentage points
  • U.S. History EOC: +6 percentage points

Heather Kahoun, Chairwoman of the Osceola County School Board also expressed pride in the progress our students, teachers, and staff have achieved this year, stating, “this is a clear result of laser-focused attention to specific and targeted strategies designed to close achievement gaps.
