A message on behalf of Celebration Sanitation – Recycling Collection Transition

Recycling Collection Transition

On Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, the transition from the small open-top recycling bins, which have been in service since 1996, over to the closed-top (Lidded) containers will be complete. All residents must have made this change over for the recycling material to be collected moving forward.

As explained in the letter on Jan 4th, the change was necessary to assure the recycling material would be viable from the point of collection and transportation to the recycling transfer center. Not only to keep it dry but to keep it from becoming litter in our streets and alleys during inclement weather.

We took into consideration that not all residents would be able to house the larger 95-gallon recycling totes we currently offer. To accommodate this challenge, we gave the residents the ability to purchase any size container, “preferably” blue in color and or, marked “Recycling” as long as all recycling material is contained within and lidded and not on the ground.

To the residents wanting to get rid of their old open-top recycling bins. You can set them inside your trash tote if possible or tape a sign reading “Take Away” and set them beside the trash tote on your next trash service day.

Thanks to everyone who made the transition and continue to make Celebration Sanitation’s “Clean Stream Initiative” one of the cleanest recycling stream in the state of Florida.
