Celebration News Honored As Bronze Stevie® Award Winner In 2023 American Business Awards®

Apr 26, 2023

The Celebration News Magazine was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Best Newsletter category in The 21st Annual American Business Awards® today.

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Tuesday, June 13. Tickets are now on sale.

More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Thought Leader of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.  Celebration News Magazine was nominated in the Best Newsletter category.

The Celebration News magazine is the official newsletter of Celebration, Florida, conveying information to both the residential and commercial entities of the community. The publication is a one-stop source for all things related to the community, from a daily and monthly calendar of events to details on upcoming events, and features on local groups, organizations, and residents.

The five cornerstones of Celebration; Technology, Education, Place, Health, and Community are important for the content of the publication. The information in the publication helps residents feel connected with their neighbors and community, creating a distinct sense of place in their hometown.

The community’s Lifestyle & Communications Director, Liz Wargo serves as editor of the publication, with Shawn Schofield as publisher, graphic design by Christina Cassaro, and advertising by Ternion Sage. Feedback from judges included:

Amazing concept beautifully and colourfully executed. Information packed newsletter – great tool for community interaction.

As house organs go, this one is excellent. The layout is a little crowded, but that is understandable, given the abundance of display ads. The ads are among the best things about the magazine (“newsletter” doesn’t describe the high quality of the publication).

Celebration News (aptly named) looks like an amazing publication targeted to commercial and residential members of your FL community. The publication is chock full of helpful resources.

Congratulations on all of your hard work here!

Your newsletter does a nice job of incorporating images throughout to break up long paragraphs of text. Each section is clearly marked so the reader knows where to go to find the information they need. Overall, you do a great job of highlighting the Celebration community.

More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“It is very gratifying for us to be able to recognize the achievements of such a wide variety of organizations, teams, and individuals in the 21st ABAs, and we look forward to bringing them together in New York on June 13 to celebrate with them,” said Maggie Miller, president of the Stevie Awards.

About Celebration

The Celebration Community was formed with the concept of building a better place and a better way to live. There’s a reason Celebration is not a town, but a community in every positive sense of the word. In order to draft a blueprint for fulfilling such a vision and oversee its creation, the Walt Disney Company founded The Celebration Company. Utilizing the combined experience of a specialized group of world-renowned city and social planners, as well as the best architects of our time, The Celebration Company conceived five principles that would guide every aspect of the community’s creation. Those five guiding principles known as the Celebration Cornerstones, consist of: Sense of Community, Sense of Place, Focus on Technology, Focus on Education and Focus on Health.
